The Jaguar XFR has quite astonishing - and controllable - performance
You start to wonder if Jaguar has screwed up and put the normally aspirated version of the potent V8 in the XFR. This can’t be an M5 competitor – it’s just too civilised. The ride is cosseting and compliant, but with an underlying – and reassuring – firmness.

Low key but not for long
It’s not often a manufacturer unveils three new cars on its stand but Brilliance JinBei Automobile did just that. Not that you’d notice – sandwiched in between a number of specialist marques with unpronounceable names, the European debut of the BS6 and BS4 saloons and BC3 coupe (above) didn't attract too many camera flashguns. But make no mistake, Brilliance will, we predict, be an automotive household name 10 years from now.
The Tesla Model S is an incredible machine. We'll cover the operating experience soon, but right now I've got a story to tell. It started on a Tuesday morning, when a malfunction of the Tesla's charge port kept me stranded 90 miles from my office.
